It is a truth universally acknowledged that it doesn't matter whether I ship slash, het, threesomes or incest, my pairing will never become canon. Even when it is bleedingly obvious. ARGH! The pairing even got a nod on the show, only to get shot down again (well, two nods if you count MY FAVOURITE MOMENT OF THE SHOW EVER. Uhm. Okay, possibly one of my favourite moments, as the show is awesome, but still. Gnah. I thought I was going to cry, which only proves, as Gemma says, that I am very, very silly.)

Gem and I, despite oestensibly needing to revise for exams, having been watching Vicar of Dibley (between revision, for those who worry about me). It's an utterly awesome show, featuring Dawn French and written by Richard Curtis, and it makes me laugh my head off and manages to still *hit* at times. And that'd be the show where I suddenly found what may just be my favourite het pairing yet - Geraldine/David. Geraldine is the female vicar, whose arrival starts everything off, throwing the village of Dibley into disarray, and she's awesome - completely, fabulously awesome. And then there's David. Now, I don't actually understand why I like David, except perhaps for some very vague - I can't stress very enough -similiarities between him and myself. He's all kinds of opposed to Geraldine at first, being of a Conservative mindset, and the first couple of episodes, he's your standard smarter-than-thou toff, not inclined to shows of emotion, or indeed, inclined to change. And yet, somewhere in season one, he changes and becomes somewhat likable, until by season two he's almost more sympathetic than any of the other characters (save, perhaps, for Hugo), excepting the Vicar. AND HE'S JUST SO OBVIOUSLY FOND OF HER!

And they have banter, because they almost always disagree and yet, yet there's chemistry, and I saw it coming long before THE MOMENT (seriously. AWESOME. There's this bit at the end of every episode, where Geraldine tells a joke to her Verger, Alice, who never understands them, a source of much hilarity. Then, at the end of Love and Marriage, in which Alice gets married and ships off on her honeymoon, and the Vicar announces that she's leaving Dibley to work in the inner-city of Liverpool. Then the end joke comes up, except instead of telling a joke to Alice, she tells it to David, who gets it; they laugh, and then he says, with the fondest look ever on his face, "Stay." *dies* It. Just. Understated and lovely and oh, David!) and then the proposal in Spring which just. Ah! You know it's going to end badly, but I so, so wanted Gerry to go through with it.

And then she gets married in the last ever episode. To someone else. I WANT SOMEONE TO WRITE ME AU FIC WHERE SHE ENDS UP WITH DAVID, DAMMIT. *notes down as possible Yuletide idea*

In other news...my bad mood seems to have abated somewhat, which is excellent. I'm crediting Monday/Tuesday. Mmhm.

In other, other news: this language project can go fuck itself.

I don't know that show but I do know your problem. *sighs* I've recently fallen in love with Heroes and damn, my OTP in that series was turned into my wrong!ship of Doom by a plot twist. And now I can't stop seeing it.

Sometimes, being a fan is tough. :-)

Oh! Is that the recently-revealed sib!pairing?

Fandom is evil.

Actually, they turned out to be uncle and niece, and in my book that's much worse than sibling incest (which I've read without shame).

I've gotten used to it now, though I still hope they'll get unrelated in the future. One of the actors even hinted that it might happen but that might be nothing. Still, I think that when even people outside of fandom notice that something isn't quite right with them, that *has* to mean something. I hope.

It's just not fair that they have exactly the kind of relationship I can't resist in het pairings. *sighs*

... you are not going to sell me into another fandom. You're *not*.

*points accusingly at you*

Also, you're unbearably cute. Say hi to Gemma for me, would you? And tell her good luck on the exams. The same goes for you, too, of course.

It's not a fandom, because there is one fic in existence. It's even less of a fandom than Take That, which is also the kind of luck I've been having these days. *pouts*

Hee! I think you're quite dear, too. Gemma says hi back!

Oh, darling. *grins* Only you. Only you.

(By the way, your birthday present is on its way! It'll probably arrive some days before your birthday, though.)
