As it happens, I have no problem with corrupting my own childhood. Which might explain why it doesn't faze me at all that I'm watching a children's christmas calendar, reading X-Men smut and looking at green_queen's contribution to making the yuletide gay. Except that I think my brain just melted. Mmm, charolastras.

Speaking of, uh, childhood, I seem to have aquired a small obsession with Boy Meets World. Yay for staying at a generic age of 12! But Corey is so cute and Shawn is such a DWEEB. Was there ever an age when that kind of thing was cool? Still <3 him, though. Not to mention Mr. Feeny, who clearly rules the universe.

And speaking of twelve, guess what's on tomorrow? Man in the Iron Mask. Obviously, December is the month of Jeremy. And Chris indulging in preteenness.

In other news, Sofie is sick, poor dear, 38.5 degrees of fever. Which means I can easily blame her for my sudden interest in the X Men. Uh-huh. Seriously, though, send her healing vibes - it's no fun being sixk around Christmas.

Also, Wallace is love and so is Mac. And uh, just about everybody on Veronica Mars.

Way to not be doing anything constructive.

Anyway! Yesterday I participated in my first ever trollprincess costume party. Now, that was a good time - I went as Princess Leia (hence the current default icon), managed have a argument with pre-Vader Anakin, get weepy over Padmé, commiserate with Rose Tyler over space-travelling men and flirt with Doctor Crane. Good fun all around! The party can be found here

And today, after waking up too late to make my hairdressers' appointment, I locked myself in the boiler room with tea and peas and finished Lost. Seriously. It blew me away. The twists at the end did seem suddenly to go rather fast, contrasting with the more languid pace at the beginning, but now that I've had time to think about it, it does make sense - in fact, the book had been building to that pace through-out.

It's one of the books that makes me wish I were smarter, or more well-read; I can *see* the puzzles and hints, but I can't solve all of them. The use of them was good though and the entire story, the book-within-the-book and the twist at the end concerning it - it was a really compelling story. The plot, loosely, is that Winifred Rudge is going to stay with her step-cousin in London for a few days to get inspired for her next book, before she travels to Romania. She stays at the Rudge family house - built by an ancestor of hers, said to be the model for Dickens' Scrooge character. The novel quickly becomes something of a ghost story, but it's in no way bland - that cast of characters is far too interesting, the details are too many and the prose is wonderful. I seriously, seriously recommend it.

And now I just need to finish The Virgin's Lover. It's good, and Amy finally seems to be growing the fuck up. It's about time.

Speaking off, I am finally alone in my room! There are no guests who need the extra bed, no extra siblings - I'm alone. And to think, I'd just gotten so used to fleeing to the boiler room. It is quite nice though. I wonder if it'll be disconcerting to sleep alone now.

Finally: SOFIE'S HOME YAY! Now all I need is for Tess to get back, and my world can get back on it's axis *grins*

You know, it's one thing that there's already three communities about Kingdom of Heaven already. And another thing that two of them are slash communities.

I mean. I get that. Pretty people in movies = interest.

BUT WHY ON EARTH IS IT ALL LIAM/ORLANDO?! Waaah! and why is there no Liam's character/Jeremy Irons' character??! Not On!

Going to see A Very Long Engagement later, which'll be interesting; the trailer for it is absolutely beautiful and I lovely Audrey. Mmmm, movies.
