So. Transcendental is possibly the most brilliant fic I've read in a while. Elizabeth is taken out due to an attempted gas poison assisination, and as a result Rodney has to take charge of Atlantis. And this, this fic is just. Excellent. It's long, and plotty and hot and sweet in a really warped way, and go read it now.

In other news, this mouth-breathing thing? Is getting really old fast. As is this history essay. I wonder if they could, if they tried hard enough, come up with some more asisine essay topics. I can't believe they want me to find eight sources on "What were the main characteristics of Early Modern society?" - seriously? I could do it with one source. I could probably do it without sources. And I don't care. It's just a hassle I could do without, really. But it's the last proper essay of the year, so I'll muddle through, I guess.

And I'm whining, but really, I'm just kind of pleasantly buzzed right now. Must be the fic; I don't even care that it's snowing outside.

ETA: Wrapped Up, Sheppard/McKay NC-17, because, okay, maybe I have a slight backrub kink. I own my shame and all that, and this is just hot, all slow build and emotion and hotness. Also? Backrubs. Mmm.

Transcendental: also known as the only fic I can recall where real and utter humiliation did not make me backspace. In other words, I totally agree that it's wonderful and *hot*. Also extremely well-written.

Don't ever say that, honey - I'm pretty sure they *could*. Just be grateful it's not even *more* stupid.

*pets your poor lungs, in a non-creepy way*

It's *snowing*? Wow. But okay, I have no right to be surprised, we've had shitty weather since Saturday - clear and crisp and then *hailstorms* the next. And, um, regular storms.

I think it's because it doesn't really register as humiliation as such - or at least, it didn't for me, because it works so well within the story and I was all caught up. *So* well-written.

That, I suppose, is a good point. *hates on history*

Well, it snowed for like a minute; it was hailing the day before too. The weather's all over the place - got to be spring, right?

It did for me, but it felt different, exactly because (as you said) it's vital to the story. That, and John (while hating it), thinks it's *right*, too, in a way, and is also getting off on it in a sort of subversive-turned-really-really-hot way.

*pets you* You won't have to deal with it for much longer, darling. Just keep that in mind.

Got to be. *sighs* Why isn't it summer yet?

Why isn't it the kind of spring it usually is in May? *pouts* (Not that I am in any way partial to that month. At all)

Also? HISTORY IS DEAD! Booyah!

Oh, quite right! Except less Canadian and more female.

Wow. That is a stupid essay topic. And eight sources? I only had to find three for my exam paper in British and Irish History and Society. How long does your essay have to be?

It's so incredibly ridiculous. I swear the history department is out to destroy our will to live. The essay is 2000 words long, which makes the topic and its requirements even sillier.
