The essays have ben conquered. Oh yes. As of 11.45 am, too. TRIUMPH!

In completely unrelated news, I hope all the Torchwood fans on my friends-list are already reading this, but I'm going to rec it anyway:

[livejournal.com profile] inthesestones. It's a collection of IMs, emails, reports from the Torchwood team, interspersed with prose interludes and it's just gorgeous. Although rather Ianto and Jack centric (not that I'm complaining), it's really good for all characters - I'm particularly fond of the IM conversations, which tell us more about the characters than the ones on the Torchwood website - and it manages to show how the team changes over the course of series 1. Very, very highly reccomended. Also! It's worth seeing the journal *itself*. The graphics are quite neat.

Speaking of Torchwood, I am now only missing the middle five episodes of series 1 of New Who. Huzzah! And I just watched 1x04 - Tosh's met the Doctor! And am I the only one who'd thinks it would be cool to have her try to ask Jack out about the Doctor? Just, you know, mention this humanoid alien she met once, very nice, calls himself the Doctor, and have Jack spazz out completely? That would be amazing.

Then again, I just really want Tosh fic. You know what would be amazing? Tosh/Mickey. *nods* Or, you know, Tosh/Hot Police Woman from 1x08. Tosh needs more love, really she does. Everyone forgets how awesome she is - and snarky!

In other news, I wish I could take my friends with me back to England. I was over at Tess' last night, and I'm going to miss her. Again. Not to mention Rasmus, who I also saw today - we went up to the baker's and had tea and cookies and generally acted about 50 - and Oskar. And Sofie. And I'm terrible at phoning people just to talk, which is silly, because I enjoy just talking, I just...I'm afraid of phones. They're freaky.

ETA: John Barrowman is made from pretty - not that that's news!

I'll check it out when I'm through the flist, okay? :-)

See, we've been talking about that in torch_wood, and it's really strange that she doesn't recognize the sound of the TARDIS. Perhaps she got retconned. Perhaps the writers keep forgetting important things.

What, you haven't watched all of Series 1? I'm shocked! :-) Have you seen all of Series 2, though?

And yes, Tosh needs more fic. But Mickey? Really?

... Now I'm trying to imagine what Tosh and Rose would be like together.

Barrowman. *sighs* I could spend hours just looking at that man...

Hehe, of course. It's best to have at least an hour and then start from post one. ♥

I'll take The Writers for $100. But on the other hand, I don't know that she actually ever heard the Tardis...when it landed, the pig was trying to escape, so she may have been distracted by that.

And no! I had it downloaded at one point, but then my computer crashed, and I got distracted by shiny other fandoms.

I'm very ashamed. *hangs head*

Oooh, Tosh and Rose! Rose is really, really good with female characters, by the way - I noticed she always get to be empathy central with female characters(excepting The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, where she gets to flirt with Jack instead). Not that I'm complaining!

I *like* Mickey. He's very normal, down-to-earth. I think Tosh'd be good for him and vis versa.

he is *so* damn pretty. *pets him*

Oh, I've read it all and I'm hooked. It looks like canon! Except better and shinier!

I just rewatched the episode a couple of days ago and she definitely heard the Doctor leave. But then, writers will keep messing up and we'll keep making better excuses for them than they could ever think of. :-)

Oh noes! Which episodes are you missing, then?

She definitely is. She takes the "human" approach, and it sometimes works out better than what the Doctor does, but often they just complement each other. I think they could work out, if only one found a way to get them together...

I *really* didn't like Mickey in Series 1, but he was actually one of the best things in Series 2. It was nice to watch him grow.

Oh, he is. *grins*

Exactly!

Hehe, too true. S'why fandom's so awesome, no?

I'm up to Dalek and then I've seen all the Jack Harkness episodes. I'm currently being blocked from MegaUpload (unfair!) for having exceeded my download limit. But soon. Soon, I will have 1x07 and 1x08 and geek will be me.

They complement each other wonderfully; I was just watching Dalek this morning, and wow! Firstly, gnah, Nine is just amazing; the scene where he thinks Rose is dead? *wibbles* It also shows how they need each other - the Doctor needs a companion to *stay* "human", or rather, compassionate.

I have quite a fondness for Mickey in Boomtown and Aliens of London. He's good in a pinch, he is.

Okay, I'll remember not to spoiler you for them, then. :-) Just wondering, where do you find the episodes and how good is the quality?

I need to rewatch Dalek. But yes, that's exactly why the Doctor needs a companion. Have you seen The Runaway Bride yet? Donna sums it up perfectly - he needs someone to stop him.

Okay, he *was* pretty handy in Aliens of London, but it's just sad to see him come running every time Rose wants him to. He should move on.

Uhm. Can't say - though if you give me your email, I can email you the url. The quality is standard avi. as far as I can tell.

Nope, not yet. But Dalek is amazing, it really. Dammit, I miss Christopher Eccleston (I liked Rose better with him, as well. She grates on me a bit with Ten. Argh. Why must I have such issues? ;))

True, but I still think he was incredibly *brave* and *sensible* in not going with the Doctor and Rose in World War Three. It just...I like the average guy sometimes, and Mickey's so very human.

Right. fandom.addict@gmail.com :-)

I miss him too. One season is just not enough. And I'm convinced that it's Ten's fault that Rose seems different, too. She was pretty awesome in The Satan Pit.

I guess he was, yeah. I'm just not that fond of average guys. That's also why I don't like Rhys that much. They're just there. I think I like Mickey a bit more now, actually, than I did the first time I watched the episodes. Perhaps I was just determined not to like him because he interfered with my OTP. :-)

I know! Damn it, Eccleston, one more season would've killed you?

I like 'em in some contexts - for example Mickey. I kind of like Rhys, but not that much - he's not really a character so much as a plot device for Gwen (incidently, I kind of feel the same way about Diane).

And Mickey doesn't *really* interfere with the OTP - I think both Mickey and Rose know, by World War 3, that they're not going to work out. It takes them a little longer to admit it, but I think they know.

I love [livejournal.com profile] inthesestones! TOSH/MICKEY OH MY GOD YES. She'd be a bit prim and snappy, he'd wheedle and grin and she'd get all blushy and they'd live happily ever after THE END. :D

OH JOHN BARROWMAN PLZ LOOK AT ME WHILE SMILING LIKE THAT AND WEARING GLASSES, 'K?

Also, I quite agree wiht you. Phones are scary. Also known as the reason I'll never become a telemarketer, despite the better pay (and it's just freakish that telemarketing pays *more* than what I'm doing right now. *sighs*)

And, darling, light of my existence: I'll miss you too. Dreadfully. But I'm planning on visiting you when you've gotten settled at your new place (when are you moving there? I've forgot.) and when I can get off from work.

And? [livejournal.com profile] inthesestones is *awesome*.

Phone are weird! I'd hate to be a telemarketer too - I'd fall over my own tongue. *hugs*

Moving in on the 1st of July, baring any disasters *knocks on wood* YOU HAVE TO COME. At some point!

Grnngh. Guh.

So would I. *shivers*

I WANT TO VERY BADLY! Preferably before that, but that would mean BREAKING RULES and I am not good with that sort of thing. (This is where you reassure me, k?)

Oh my god, it *is*. Jack/Ianto is... well, love.

Seriously, it's no problem. The rules simply indicate that someone else shouldn't be *living* with you. As in permanently. As the subwardens say, just keep them out of the dining hall, and all will be fine.

Jack/Ianto is confusing as well. It's...not fitting into any of my standard pairing boxes. *looks at it*

... YAYE! Um, will start to approach subject of a holiday with my boss, then. Any particular weeks that are good/bad for you?

It is. I mean, I'm not exactly certain what they *are* to each other, in canon. *Are* they sleeping together? I... have my doubts. But then there are so many things that indicate otherwise and OMG CONFUSION. But also hotness, so it's not like I *mind*.
