So I'm totally failing at my to-do-list. But at least my bike is clean, and as soon as Veronica Mars is done, I'm going swimming. I swear. I really, really am. Or maybe I'll pack. Or write my Danish essay.
Or maybe I'll sit here waffling and reading fic. Except not.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting is not because I'm indecisive (well, not entirely), but because I want to squee about V for Vendetta, which I just saw. And it's wonderful. It really is. Everything I could ever want in a movie, really - politics, rebellion, flawed, troubled superhero, 1984-esque storyline, lesbian subplot, Natalie Portman, British history, Stephen Fry - how can I *not* love that? I cried twice during the movie: when Stephen was taken away, and Evey was watching under the bed; and of course, during Valerie's letter. Whoever wrote that is a talent - it was so damn sad, particularly when you realized that she, too, had ended up at Larkhill. And just the thought Ruth being taken while she's out for groceries - it broke my heart, because it splits them apart, and Valerie has no way of knowing what happened to her, or where she went, or did she even survive the trip? And I am not considering writing that fic. I just think that should be noted.
Evey's tranformation - also awesome. Natalie did a wonderful job, and managed to look lovely even as V was doing his maniacal breaking down and rebuilding project. And I'll admit; the sequence where V prepares for his plan, with the dominioes? Had me squeeing in my seat.
However, he blew up Old Bailey? *moans incoherently* And the Houses of Parliment! It was harsh! But kind of wonderful, and I loved the dialogue between Evey and Finch. God, that movie rocked. Anyone up for a second veiwing? Anyone?
Now I really am going swimming. Really.

Date: 2006-04-12 07:55 pm (UTC)Hee, I would totally fulfill any candy-or-other-American-products-that-don't-make-their-way-to-Nmark (yes, Nmark, because on the most recent letter I got, the 'Da' was accidentally pulled off or cut off from the stamp, so it looks like Nmark) requests that you may so desire. It's my job in life, in my current situation, to help as many Danes as possible from afar. But when I move to Denmark, well, the Danes are on their own, aren't they?
Want anything, dear? We can totally trade again if you would like. Any spiffy Danish candy that I have no access to? I'm easy to please! ;D

Date: 2006-04-12 08:11 pm (UTC)So what's on the list thus far? Reeses, Sweettarts.. anything else in particular? There's just sooo much candy at Sam's Club that it's overwhelming.
I mean bloody hell! Look! http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/search.do?searchtype=simple&catg=1&simplesearchfor=candy&simpleitemtype=0&x=0&y=0
*tears* 500 results?! Surely there has to be less candy in the world than that. But it does seem to be that much whenever I go in there. So take your pick, m'lady! They're all rather cheap, though. So no worries.
You flatter me. I blush. I hug. *hugs!*

Date: 2006-04-12 08:16 pm (UTC)I'll send you a mixed back of stuff, we'll see what you like. It'll be fun! It'll be an adventure! It'll be candy! I wonder if turtles might melt in the mail, though...

Date: 2006-04-12 08:20 pm (UTC)Yay! I don't think they'll melt.. I sent Peter chocolate truffles once and he said they didn't look weird or deformed once he got them (actually, there was alot of easily melt-able candy in that package) so hopefully all will go well. And hey, candy's candy, right? Who cares if it's melted? It's still love!

Date: 2006-04-12 08:29 pm (UTC)Awesome, then you are definitely getting turtles. Because turtles are v. cool. And deeeeeelicious. And you're also getting liquorice. Because liquorice is love and I adore liquorice and would live off it, were that possible. So that's a definite go.
Mmmm. This post is making me salivate.

Date: 2006-04-12 08:34 pm (UTC)Yay! I can't wait. I'll go shopping later on today, I think, and then I'll be so excited and everyone in the queue will be jealous because while they're buying things of great importance, like bread and water and nose hair trimmers and such, I'll have a whole bunch of candy in my basket. And it'll be maniacal and brilliant.
Me too. That's it. Time to raid.
