I finished physics. You may all worship me now. *does victory lap*

The art over on [livejournal.com profile] indeedsir just slays me. In all the best ways.

Today my father, fed up with my increasingly frequent rants about punctuation, suggested I write Bill Gates about it, so he can solve the problem in Word. Specifically, by not allowing more than one exclamation mark at a time, and not letting the document print if written in 133t, or liek thiz. Unless of course, one can come up with a witty and sensible reason for this type of printing, and justify it to the programme.

My ire was woken by a commercial reading 'Denmark's Oldest teahouse!!!', which makes it sound like it's run by 13 year old teenagers with to much caffiene running through their veins.

I have slept all of 10 hours the past four nights. Collectively. This makes me exceedingly grumpy.

The English teachers at my school have decided, in a fit of possibly provoked insanity, that our focus for Friday's block schedule should be Victorian paintings. More specificly, Turner's nature paitings. In the era of Dickens, Brontës, Austen, Wilde and most likely nine or ten others I've neglected to mention, we are doing paintings. Remind why, exactly, I'm supposed to enjoy English?

In an episode of mental disfunction, I signed up for following courses for tomorrows latin-based language day: Roots of the Language (also encompasses the relationship between latin and English [English/Latin OTP!]); Metaphors in daily usage; the Philosophy of Camus. When faced with dancing, singing, visiting museums, watching movies or doing note-requiring classes, I somehow ended up with the last. I win! Or, maybe not.

This makes my hidden Shakespeare fangirl running around in circles squeeing for joy

I am constantly surprised by the harsh reactions I get for reading 'Lolita', particularly from people who've only seen the movie. I am frankly shocked by the attitude that it is an equally blamable relationship - poor Lo has little to deserve such harsh judgement and bitter condemnation. She is a girl of twelve, after all.

I had three random conversations with people I don't know today. Was strangely nice.

Jonas is the sweetest, weirdest, most precocious kid. I wanna adopt him.

I found a Christmas tape of classic Christmas songs that we bought when we lived in England. The tape is almost ten years old. And it still works. Heh!

I am going to bed

It seems you've had quite a day!

Those English classes sound really cool! You have to write some kind of report on them!

They really don't, though.

My indifference to nature pictures is pretty awe-inspiring. Getting stuck with them for a day is just unlucky to the nth degree.

omg!

*worships*

And you should totally write him. You'd be doing the world a favour. A big one.

Victorian *paintings*? When you could've had *Wilde*? I don't get this. Seriously, I don't.

omfg, you have a latin-based language day? that is so *neat*. I want one too!

Well, you do hvae to admit that child molestation is a serious issue; and when people've only seen the movie (without bothering to analyze it, grrr) this'll happen. *sighs*

*puts blanket around you*

Sleep tight, honey! (pssst: you *are* still coming Saturday, right?)

*preens*

I know! I mean, at the very least, a huge contingent of English teachers would be indebted to me.

I know, and it's nature paitings. Not even city paitings, which would make *so much more sense*. And Wilde! I want Wilde!

I know, but even then, people shouldn't as such judge the book - after all, it doesn't make child molestation seem acceptable, really. And that still doesn't explain the way they blame Dolly.

*cuddles you*

Wouldn't miss it ;)

*gazes adoringly at you*

Oh, my Lady, how shall I proceed in order to live a clean and healthy life?

Just, you know. Teachers in general. Also, me.

yeah. I just don't... get it. Why? (But then, I really never get paintings.)

Of course it doesn't - but they have no way of knowing that. And when you look at the current hysteria about child molestation - I'm not saying it's not a *very* serious issue, but I do think we're going quite overboard - it's not odd that people should look askance at it. The climate prevents, too, that they read the book for themselves to see.

*cuddles back*

I'm glad! :) When are you going to be here?

Clean and healthy? Lots of sleep, lots of bathes and lots of vegatables and fruit.

What, you wanted a profound answer?

And me. And in a couple of centuries decades, people in general would realise my huge contribution to society as a whole.

Oh good, that makes two of us.

True, true. I agree that we've gone overboard. However, I still dislike the implication that a book can be good or bad in a moral sense. I guess I just don't veiw books that way, but more as works of fiction, intended to make us think, reassess the world; failing that, a way to pass a few hours.

Probably around 12-13, if that's okay?
