It is entirely possible that I should be doing math now. Bah.
Twisted_Badger’s drabble: Ainsley/Donna, spatula, groggy
“Donna, get up.”
Ainsley’s voice seemed to be operating at several hundred decibels today, and Donna groaned and pulled the pillow over her head. It didn’t help with the ache everywhere, but it did drown out her rather enthusiastic girlfriend. If that was the term used nowadays. Donna decided it was too early to even think about Ainsley, let alone defining what Ainsley was.
“Donna, don’t make me come in there and threaten you with a spatula.”
Donna responded by pulling the duvet up so no part of her wasn’t covered.
“Donna. I will come in there and hit you.”
Warm. Donna was very warm, and her body had stopped aching so much. Maybe, she theorized, maybe warmth made the ache go away. She tried to bury further into the bed.
“Donna!”
Ainsley sounded exasperated, and if the footsteps were not just in Donna’s imagination, Ainsley was coming. Possibly with a spatula.
“Donna.”
And okay, exasperated Ainsley, standing over her bed, possibly with a spatula. Donna didn’t think she was getting out of this one.
“It hurts” she tried.
“Donna, I can’t hear what you’re saying if you say it under the pillow.”
Ainsley was way too logical sometimes. Donna removed the pillow.
“I said, it hurts.”
She tried pouting, just in case it might sway Ainsley. As Ainsley’s face softened, Donna thought it had worked.
“Oh Donna” Ainsley said, sitting down on the bed and stroking Donna’s hair. “I know it does.”
Donna tried for a brave smile.
“But think of how much Josh would tease you for staying away because of cramps.”
Donna groaned again. She stretched and kicked the duvet off.
“It hurts.”
Ainsley smiled, and kissed her.
“I’ll make it better later, kay?”
Donna smiled back.
“That better entail chocolate. Lots of chocolates.”
She considered for a moment.
“And you’re doing the washing up.”
Ainsley laughed and kissed her again before padding into the kitchen. Donna started going through her closet, trying to find something suitable and, preferably, clean.
“Oh, and Ainsley?”
“Yes, sugerpie?”
“We are burning the spatula.”
Donna had the distinct feeling she was being laughed at.

And, with that, I bid you goodnight. Perhaps.
