Paul Simon : So Artie. You've come crawling back ?
Art Garfunkel : It's very nice that you would invite me on your show, Paul, thanks a lot.
Paul Simon : Your movie's over now ? [ ... ] A little two-part harmony ?
Art Garfunkel : I'll try it again, see if it works this time ...
Paul Simon : The Boxer ?
Art Garfunkel : Yeah.
Hee! (From Saturday Night Live 1975)
Art Garfunkel : In New York City where we both come from I was going to Columbia University a few years ago studying to be an architect and I had an interest and a liking of the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright so I suggested to Paul that he write a song about Frank Lloyd Wright, and ...
Paul Simon : I didn't know anything about Frank Lloyd Wright however. I procedeed to write the song anyway.
There is something sad about the fact that Art asked him to write that song. I have a strange love-hate relationship with it, can only really bear listening to it once in a while...
Art Garfunkel : I said to Paul this summer, while we were living in California, "Why don't you write a song about Frank Lloyd Wright ?", simply because I was, once in my past, I was studying to be an architect, and I was always very fond of Frank Lloyd Wright, and to my surprise, he wrote the following song ...
Paul Simon : to your surprise ?
(Yes. I am actually this obsessive. It's kind of sad, really. Sound files for these quotes can be found here. And someone needs to make me screencaps from the concert in Central Park.)
I think the amount of really, fucking angsty fandoms I have says something about my mental state. Possibly that I'm a masochist.

Date: 2004-08-05 01:05 pm (UTC)*snort* YOU used to be part of potter fandom.

Date: 2004-08-05 01:43 pm (UTC)Yes, but I'm in the overly-snobby, canon loving fan who doesn't need to be a part of fandom as much.Plus, the femslash part of fandom isn't as strange as the rest of it...

Date: 2004-08-05 02:01 pm (UTC)I write more slash than femmeslash, but I read very little of either, because I'm apparently too picky with my pairing (this also goes for LOTR as well--no one writes Karl/Dave, so I don't read anything). Or not, since H/D is rampant. Unfortunately, most of it makes me cry, so I stick to Bella/Cissa and Remus/James.

Date: 2004-08-05 03:18 pm (UTC)lol. You should try being a fluff shipper. The girls in HP_girlslash seem to believe pain, angst and hurt have to be involved in femslash...

Date: 2004-08-05 03:22 pm (UTC)Honey, I ship Bella/Cissa. Fluff does not exist. I tend to ignore hp_girlslash, because they're either not very good writers (I'm terribly picky), or the pairing sucks. *sigh* But I know what it is to ship fluff. Sadly, I do it in a rare pairing. Though, if you ever come across any James/Remus, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE pass it this way.

Date: 2004-08-05 05:23 pm (UTC)True, true. I ship Ginny/Cho and Parvati/Lavender. Those ships turn up once a blue moon of Venus appears.

Date: 2004-08-05 05:29 pm (UTC)Fellowship gets strong feelings out in me. I completely respect the books-culturally important and all that. I just don't find them an interesting read.
Understandable, of course!

Date: 2004-08-05 05:34 pm (UTC)There needs to be lots of HQ fic about them. Yes.

Date: 2004-08-04 11:00 pm (UTC)How angsty are they? How far are you going you little masochist? ;)

Date: 2004-08-05 06:02 am (UTC)Fransk Lloyd Wright is kind of ironic, because Paul decided to use FLW as a pseudonym/euphemism/metaphor for Art, and it's become known as the good bye song.
Lol! Well, theres M.A.S.H which is about a war and in my favorite pairing, one of thems married. Then theres Cathrine/Sara which can be angsty like a big angsty thing...so many fandoms...*sigh*
