So yes. I am back, and almost normal
FSGVJ%%#GCYRWF!!1! Exams are over!! Whee! Unfortunately, so is my season of S&H dvd's (well, almost) but I still have the extras to entertain me during the summer. (My obsession has pretty new icon to match! Gah! By

Not that it was too good to begin with, but around the third season. I'm sorry, but there were way too many gay references on that show!
What is this "too many" you speak of?
My friend and I observed this on a "Starsky And Hutch" weekend this past week, and we made a very fun game of finding all the homosexual references, none of which have to do with their friendship.
Well, now. I do this too, but I see it as an intergrated part of their friendship. Granted, I've only seen season 1, but all this talk is firing me up for season 3 real bad. Hm
My friend and I wondered at one point if the main writers were homosexual. Here's some of our observations:
1) Starsky and Hutch were almost ALWAYS standing within kissing-distance of one another
You say this as if it's a bad thing?
2) They never seemed to have steady girlfriends, and when they did, they didn't seem at all comfortable with them (i.e. no chemistry)
Oh, snerk!
3) On more than one occasion they went undercover as hairdressers, a profession littered with gay men
Work that stereotyping!
4) Starsky dipping Hutch. What self-respecting hetereosexual male would do that to a male friend of his?
Who cares about that, look at how pretty they were doing it *fangirls icon*
5) S & H came across a laundry mat being held up in progress. They formulated a plan to foil the robbers, which included Starsky taking off his CLOTHES and wrapping a towel around his bottom, while Hutch took his clothes in the laundry to "wash" them.
Oh, that's so gay. Dude. So gay. Or, you know, not. Just pretty, pretty PMG skin.
I love this show already. Love it so much. It's funny, serious and I love the characters ( and their friendship and their OMG let me plaster myself to you and the beautiful handholding scene in Coffin. Gah.
And for kicks, Black bean Soup lyrics, sung in Death Notice.
Black Bean Soup
All I want is black bean soup
And you to make it with me
Honey won't you
Be my love while love will stay
And wear your ribbons for me
Boil those black beans, honey
Mash them up real well
One big soft tomato
Just a handful of sorrel, well
Cut up your chilly pepper
Squeeze that garlic smell
One mouthful of drippings
A grandaddy onion and well, well, well
All I want...
Well I've been kicked in the head a few times
But that just made me high
I believe in the good things now
You know black bean soup don't lie, lie, lie....
CHERYL: You guys really are straight
HUTCH: Yeah
STARSKY: In a kinky kinda way
Out of context, but look! Hi!!
Tess' graduation yesterday, which was great fun, but also makes me a little sad. I guess I'm kinda scared of losing her. I split the fangirly world into two groups: The group who catches sight of the slash folder 3 years later and goes 'Oh, those days when I was obsessive' and the group that sees the folder and goes 'I wonder if Happy Birthday to You is still in there.' and I guess I'm afraid of Tess turning into the first group. And that would be horrid, because Tess is...the person I fangeek with. I mean, I adore all of you guys, but Tess has been here from the start (Of course, so has
yatina76) and no one else is going to send me a text saying 'Hehe, BJ and Hawkeye are also getting married.' or to ask me about The West Wing. Plus, she gets my jokes, and my dirty mind and I don't feel uncomfortable around her, and goddammit Tess, you'd better not change, because I would be so pissed, and lost without you *clings to Tess like limpet*
/sentimentality
Someone tell me why I agreed to work tomorrow? Someone must have slipped me something.
Hey, have any of you guys heard of the Everyly Brothers? They're warm up for my grade present, so I'm curious.
Argh. I have two tickets, one for HP friday, and one for the Simon&Garfunkel concert (OMG I*M GONNA SEE THEM LIVE!!!!!SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!1!!!one!!!) and I have no clue who to invite for them. Bah. Humbug. I need more friends.
My playlist is stuck in the seventies, and so is my Farrah Fawcet hair.
ETA: I have my money for England! *does dance*

Date: 2004-06-17 03:42 pm (UTC)You won't lose me. We might not go to school together anymore, but we didn't go to school together for two years before you came to ØB, so I'm positive we can keep contact! Especially because of the wonders of the internet, MSN and LJ, which has saved us on many occasions!
I love you, you little...something. And I will not save this entry in my Memories.
