I loved almost everything ( I can think of a few scene in the end there, and I am not talking about Arwen), but I sobbed at the Pippin&Merry moments. The one where they are split up for the first time, and then after the battle. It slew me. Indeed, both Merry and Pippin were excellent in this movie. They made me laugh, they made me cry, they made me want Aragorn and Legolas to give up some screen time already.("Are you going to leave me?" "No, I am going to take care of you") And the scene where they're smoking and drinking? Heee!

Also, on that note: Eowyn. Fuck. She was so amazing. I loved her and Merry's talks and they way they both weren't supposed to there, but ended saving the day. Not to mention Miranda looked so gorgeous. Pfft. Move over Liv Tyler, you ain't got nothing on her. She made me want Aragorn/Eowyn as a pairing. Also, I love the message in the whole her and Merry thing. How pissed am I that they cut much of the Faramir/Eowyn story? I have to read the book now *pouts* ;-)

Faramir. He made me hurt for him. David was incredible. he does pain well. I forgot anything I thought about him in TT, he was so amazing and Faramir made me cheer. He was beautiful in the coronation scene. As was Eowyn. Screw Aragorn, anyway.

Sam and Frodo. Are there words? I have 4. Breaking of the Fellowship. They played little pieces of it all the time and as most of you may know, I worship that song. I mean worship as in it's one of my three-on-a-desert-island-songs worship. And they played it. When Frodo kissed Sam's forhead (They made have been fading to Into the West, but still.) Anyway. Does anyone really need to slash them? They do it themselves and they're so beautiful. I wept like a baby at the kiss, and the scene where Frodo thinks Sam will betray him. Killed. Me. "I'm so sorry, Sam" "Don't go where I can't follow, Mister Frodo" Gah. I am dead. Shelob, in Mt. Doom, on the staircase, in Orthanc, they were great. Even the totally-random-Rosie-mention scene was great. And how random was that? I love how he doesn't even talk like he's in love with her. It sounded more like 'if I had too' scenario. Anyway. I loved.

Billy singing. I could watch that scene on repeat for hours.

I loved Gimli. He's cool, so the rest of y'all can shut up. Also, possibly the coolest of the trio. At least he has a sense of humor and doesn't randomly soud like a fortuneteller.

Legolas and Aragorn. Actually kind of meh. I mean, they rocked as always and Aragorn was inspirational, but..not so much with the interest.

Theoden. Thud. Those scene were awe inspiring and "I wish for you to smile". Their family dynamic was beautiful.

The battle scenes were all great, epic. I want to see them all again!

Gandalf. How cool was he? Kicking ass and being all vague and philisophical. Wow. I loved him. And his battle scenes. so. beat. Yoda's. The scenes with Pippin especially, but also with Aragorn and Theoden. He just..he was so this person you HAD to respect and listen too. It was fucking fantasic.

The movie, in short, was the best. It made me laugh, made me cry, made me wish it could last much longer, it made me bite my nails and squee in my seat. I sat grinning all through Theodens speech before the battle. And Eowyn&Merry vs. The Witch King. I couldn't sit still. So great.

Arwen didn't annoy me at all, though. Except in that last scene. Guys, it's not Romeo& Juliet. Have a seat.

Coronation scene: Great

Return to the Shire: Sweet and poignant.

The Final Goodbye: Beautifully melancholy and sad, with a twist of perfection. I am still dead.

Ok, I am off to watch the WB TT-special that I just learned we have *grin*

Oh. Gave a group lecture on Musicals today. We rocked so much.

Also, it occurred to me, when hugging Clara and David goodbye after school today, that no matter how much I want to study in the US, I don't want to switch schools. I will never get a class as great as the one I have now. *le sigh*

I want to see Hairspray. I borrowed the soundtrack from the library and *heart* it. Not to mention the 'We Will Rock You' soundtrack that me and Jonas jammed to today (Jonas is the baby I babysit).

I came to pick him up today and he goes 'Clinta!' (Clinton) Hm. Possibly the only 20 month old that knows that word. Tuaght him to say Merry and Pippin today. hehe. He'll be the dorkiest kid ever. Love him so much. Such a cutie.

Going to see RotK on Monday *dances*

Everything you just wrote, I agree with. Everything!! Except the Eowyn-thing... I never liked her that much, but she's cute with Faramir (whom I love dearly)

I loved this comment:
[Gimli] doesn't randomly sound like a fortuneteller
I have to agree with this. Sometimes the two of them kinda makes me want they'd just shut up and look pretty, because they are sooo cheesy! Legolas did it in TT, but I never thought Aragorn would do it. But, alas, he did...

The whole Legolas in hood scene...*shut up and look pretty, Legolas*

But how great was Aragorn running like a girl in excitement, when the piles were lit? Hah!

*complete and utter agreement* That film turned me from a Sam/Frodo shipper to a Merry/Pippin fangirl. omgPip. And the singing. LOVE.

On the other hand, I wasn't too keen on the ending--I'm not a purist, but I do think they makde it slightly over-sweet, though not excessively so. It felt like they were overdoing it with the het; of course, that's canon, but with so little straight romance throughout the entire trilogy it felt like they packed it all in right at the end. Glad they left Merry and Pip alone, though, not just for slash reasons but because I coudn't bear to see any foreshadowing of their ending up with some hobbit-girls we hardly know anything about.

yaypip!

Love,
-Powee

Yeah. plus, what was up with the sudden Rosie mention? He's hardly mentioned her for 3 movies and then..poof? I dunno.

Yeah--in the books, he does mention her here and there, but I think... no, she only got a mention at the start of FotR in the films, and it's just too much all of a sudden. I mean, anyone watching the movies without having read the books would think that Rosie was a crush and Frodo was the love of Sam's life...
