This is mostly just a collection of links so that I can find these fics again, but hey, if you're looking for something to read, come on in.

Welding Souls and Spirits (Lawrence/Ali, PG-13) - the writing in this is beautiful, and it has both plot and wonderful characterization. It's one of the longer pieces in the fandom, and while it mainly concerns itself with the relationship between Ali and Lawrence, and Lawrence ruminations over same, it still manages to bring in the ever present military side of the story.

Dreamers of the Day (Lawrence/Ali, PG-13) - Deals with the aftermath of Lawrence's rape, and as such is extremely angsty, but there's this thread of desperate hope running through it, which just makes for an intriguing, though heartbreaking, read. Ali POV.

Dreamers of the Day (Lawrence/Ali, PG-13) - Across the Sky in Stars remix of the above story. Once again excellent angst and such desperation.

Riding to Damascus (Lawrence/Ali, PG) - Because it's *the movie*. I recced this back with my Yuletide recs, and I said then, that this was my canon. I still say that. And as such, it's filled with betrayal and dishonesty and still a twisted form of beatiful love. The characterization of Ali is particularly good.

That Your Eyes Might be Shining for Me (Lawrence/Ali, G) - Because the relationship of Ali and Lawrence is so subtly dealt with within the plot of the story; the plot captures and holds your attention and feels like it could be a missing scene, and underneath all the action, there is an ever present thread of tension between Ali and Lawrence that is so *good*.

Like Water, Like Rain (Lawrence/Ali, NC-17) - It captures the damaged and fucked up side of Lawrence so well - Lawrence in this is both disturbing, pitiable and still, somehow, sympathetic. And Ali tries so hard to understand him, but cannot succeed, because Lawrence is *broken*.

The Djinn (Lawrence/Ali if you squint, G) - This should be read simply because it is [livejournal.com profile] daegaer. In just a drabble, she manages to capture Ali and Lawrence's fate.

Wisdom hath Builded her House (Lawrence gen, PG) - Deeply disturbing, combines LoA with Arab mythology. A look at Lawrence at the worst times in his life. Contains allusions to the rape and is at once beautiful and terrifying.

Tides of Men (Lawrence/Feisal, R) - This fic is actually based off A Dangerous Man: Lawrence after Arabia, but it's excellent, so I feel the need to rec it anyway. Lawrence is still broken and damaged years after Arabia. The dialogue in this is particularly good, as is the attention to scenery and detail.

Recs Page - For anything I may have missed.

Hopefully tomorrow will be slightly less stressful than today. Argh!

*sighs with bliss*

I love this fandom so much I don't even mind rereading a few of the stories. Did you not love the little story about O'Toole calling Omar 'Fred?' I thought that was quite possibly the cutest thing I'd ever read!

Hee, Omar tells it on the making of documentary, and my friend and I just looked at each other and went "aww" in unison. It's just adorable!
