So, Leicester so far is kind of shiny. Am currently shacked up in temporary accomodation which is much roomier than I thought it would be and supposedly is near identical to my term time accomodation, though my term time room is newer (re-furbished in 2004, yay!).

My dad left this afternoon and, as my orientation programme doesn't start til tomorrow, I loafed around my room all day and wandered around the student village. Also, my dad, being the wonderful man he is, bought me season 2 of Law and Order, which means I have all seasons of Paul. Yay! Since my programme as mentioned doesn't start until tomorrow (and then only at 7 pm), I'm currently spending time watching it, in all its dodgy-ties-and-economic-recession 90's wonder.

Logan is such a woobie and his completely rabid *praticality* is kind of awesome. He just has such a hard time coping with faith, which is amusing, since he (and, you know, just about 2/3 of everyone else in Dick Wolf's New York) is a Catholic and he still can't see why people get so het up about it. Also Chris Noth's performance in Confession is amazing - poor, poor Mike and poor, poor Max.

And then there's the legal team! Who are so, so shiny. Ben and Paul! Yay! Ben, of course, is amazing in all his arrogant, santimonious, always-right-and-yet-sympathetic glory; even though he's a stubborn bastard with a bigger conservative streak than I might usually like, I love him. Not to mention his rather entertaining use of personal space invasion as a discussion tatic. And Paul! I adore Paul; he's not a huge role, but he's this wonderful quiet, yet passionate shadow for Ben and he gets the best arguments with Ben. They're kind of OTP, in a quiet, very comfortable way. Particularly some of the late night in the office scenes are oddly domestic - and the tennis! And the pretzel sharing!

I kind of want fic where this comes up during a case.

Also, yes, I am definitely using fandom as procrastination for thinking about university in any serious way.

Hopefully tomorrow I can figure out how to get into town so I can get a new SIM card for my phone card. And then board games in the Student Union Hall. What fun!
