Writing rant
Aug. 15th, 2004 06:08 pmI want to write, but I feel obligated to either do the three challenge fics I have yet to get to (get inspiration for?) or one of my two WIPs. Except that the one sucks and should be deleted from my harddrive for the self-indulgent, self-pleasing crap it is, and the other I am completely uninspired for.
I'm always n awe of fanfiction writers who can churn out long peices in a few days. All my longer peices (all three of them...) take forever, or they suck so much that I'm mortified to admit I wrote it. It's kind of sad, really, considering how much I love writing. I really do. I have four kinds of basic happiness: Social Happiness, Fandom Happiness, Reading Happiness and Writing Happiness.
Only problem is, I'm bloody crap at two of those things. *angsts*
I suppose I could sit and stare at the 'Bookends' peice and wonder about how I insinuate romance without writing it, and how I insinaute a relationship without writing it, and how explain the bookends without making it completely implausible.
Not to mention, I should probably research PSTD if I'm going to use it.
Or, I could go write the pornish part of my challenge fics. Since both
arvensis and
shubassdk insist.
...
Bookends it is.
On an unrelated note, I love Eva Cassidy, but her version of American Tune? Pisses me off. Stop scrambling the lyrics woman! And sing it properly. Argh!
Actually, I don't like Paul Simon's version of it all too much either. Hm. I mean the version from 'Still Crazy...' I love the song, but it sounds best when they sing it together.
