ink_splotch: (quite extraordinary girl [different])
So. Visited my cousin in Jutland this weekend, which was a blast - I forgot how much fun we had together (and what an ego boost it is hanging out with her. She is the easiest person to get to laugh that I know). Plus, she can still almost read my mind which is freaky, yet cool. What's also freaky is that she is for all intents and purposes married. And she's seventeen. She seems so much older. She *acts* married - not like we usually joke about old married couples - but she seems responsible. Mature. Together. She buys groceries, cleans, cooks with *ease*, like it's what every seventeen year old handles. It's hard to describe, but she seems in control. Which doesn't mean I support what she does - I still think she's too young to be living in an apartment with her boyfriend - but I still admire it. And am slightly in awe of it. Particularly since I'm still having trouble imagining living alone next year when I'll be nineteen. I don't feel half as mature as she seems.

Something that's probably not helped by the fact that cheesy 80's double entendre dialogue still amuses me. Top Gun makes me snigger like a thirteen-year-old boy. But Top Gun is the *gayest* movie, bare pratically none. And the cheese! The stilted dialogue, horrible music, the scene in the *bar*! "You've lost, that loving feeling...Wow-oh, loving feeling" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ♥ And Val Kilmer/Iceman is so laughable dorky, when he's supposed to cool and I adore him. Have I mentioned it's the gayest movie ever? One big double entendre. I mean:
[watching a video of planes being shot down]
Hollywood: This gives me a hard on.
Wolfman: Don't tease me.

Also? You can ride my tail anytime. AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Sofie-Ducks? Next time we have a movie night, I'll have to show it to you. It has to been seen to be believed.

Apparently it also helps me read history, since I have more comprehensive notes for tomorrow's homework than I've had for a while. Strange.

Oh! Also, my cousin & I watched Saving Face together, which is sweet and lovely and *so* much with the pretty. It's a lovestory between two Chinese-American women, complicated by the fact that one girl, Wil, suddenly has her pregnant, un-wed mother living with her. But it's just really sweet and quiet and calm, and the actors are amazing. I recommend!
