ink_splotch: (make me feel alive [jess/jules])
I have less of a life right now, and more of a reading plan. There are just too many books, and I have neglected many too long! If I can finish the three I'm reading now, particularly 'The Da Vinci Code', by the end of this weekend, then I won't feel quite so weird when I go to the library to get 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Maurice' and 'Brideshead Revisited'. Thankfully, I have no work next week and only two papers to turn in, so I should have plenty of time. Yay! Maybe that's why I feel so unreasonably happy all the time; more reading makes me happy. I'm nuts.

Oh, and guess what my library has? 'Brideshead Revisited' as an audiobook read by Jeremy Irons! Yay! I'm getting it purely because I enjoy his voice *so* much, it's so soothing. It's the reason I was feeling all upset when they were talking of dismantling 'Spaceship Earth' in Epcot - it's narrated by him and it's the perfect way to take a few minutes to breath and relax; his voice is all calming and sweet, it's wonderful. Evelyn Waugh and Jeremy Irons, what better sound to fall asleep to? mmmm, I get all happy just thinking about it.

Had a discussion with my English teacher today about English A-level - he's considering reccomending me for lingual line English, which I'm considering, but I'm not sure I'd take it, if I got it; it seems quite arrogant to think I'm better than anyone else one might come upon in the science line of highschool. Also, I would like to be with people I know; it makes class more amusing.

Finally, let me icon rec:Poisoninjest has incredibly cool and pretty icon sets here. That's where my icon *thumbs towards it* Pretty girls! Pretty girls in love!

Also? Merchant of Venice, Phantom of the Opera, PoA, Princess Bride and muppets!

And the costumes and the girls and the eyes and it's all so pretty! )

I finished 'the Da Vinici Code'. I hate that my favourite character, the only one with any personality, was the bad guy. That sucked. If spoiler ). All in all, a good read; the theories were extremely well thought through, the art history interesting. The characters and the clunky expostition get thumbs down (as do the abuse of ellipses and italics), but still, I was entertained and intrigued, and I am pleased with that.

Now, onto Heat and then 'Everything you ever needed to know about...'

Or possibly bed. Maybe.
