Nov. 26th, 2004 11:37 pmJust finished watching Jeeves and Wooster episode 10, Chuffy. I'm quite enamoured. Firstly, obligatory Stephen Fry fangirl moment. I love that man. Secondly, I love the theme music for the show. It's awesome and the start sequence is cool! I like the style of drawing, and even though it's a little unrelated to the actual show, it's still very pretty.
The actual episode was good. Jeeves had supposedly given up working for Bertie (something about a trombone), but none-the-less, half the episode was spent those two talking. And Chuffy seemed shocked that Bertie would give up Jeeves so easily (well, so would I). And the whole thing was just delightfully cute and rather slashy, which is a bonus. I liked Chuffy, not as much as Gussie, but the extra who really stole my heart was Pauline. Her accent was horrid (no one in Boston speaks like that!), but she was fun and very pretty.
With regards to the new U2 cd, of which my family now has two copies, due to my Dad's senility, I haven't talked about it yet, I know. So, let me do that: It's magnificent. True, it isn't as varied and doesn't redefine U2 as many critics have said, but to me, that really doesn't matter. What matters is, it's extremely enjoyable to listen to, the lyrics are good and Bono's voice is so 'guh' inducing. Quite a few people have mentioned City of Blinding Lights, which is an incredible number, so I'll mention my two other favourites - Original of the Species which is a ballad, though not really a love song as such, but just so lovely, slow and building. The other is All Because of You which is Beautiful Day as a love song. Sort of. It's rather upbeat and fun and again, Bono's voice = guh.
Lastly, my mother in her infinite wisdom is giving me this as an advent gift, because I mentioned I wanted books about mythology and religion. Best part? I didn't even show this to her. o.O Very cool.
Tomorrow I shall hopefully go to Tivoli with Signe, unless it rains, in which case I am going to see De-lovely, possibly with my mother. Yay!
