So, I'm waiting for my mother to come take us all to dinner, and hey, thevilliankelly posted an interesting excuse for a pic spam meme a while ago so why not?

Indeed.

So, the deal with this meme is that you name and put up pictures of 10 celebrities that you find attractive, and then tag five other people to do it.

Yes. I know. But he's incredibly...old beautiful and his roles make me go weak in the knees. Mmm.

2. Jodhi May


Jodhi is beautiful. I mean quite literally stunningly beautiful. Also, she's in Tipping the Velvet and kissing other girls increases the hotness from my perspective (for the same case scenario with boys look above)

3. Carrie Fisher


In the 80's? C'mon, she's incredibly sexy, she's played one of the most enduring strong women in pop culture and she was married to Paul Simon. And just look at her!

4. Natalie Portman


Particularly after seeing Garden State. I actually wanted a picture of her bald to go here, but sadly, google was not in a helping mood.

5. Omar Sharif


Peter O'who now? Omar Sharif was hot. Seriously. Watch LAwrence or Doctor Zhivago. He was *sexy*.

6. Julianne Moore


She's so pretty! And so redheaded! And so freckled! And her part of The Hours is wonderful. Far from Heaven is one of my favourite movies because of her.

7. Kate Winslet


She's stunning. Absolutely stunning. And a wonderful actress.

8. Gabriel Byrne


Ahahaha. And sadly, he's here on because of three films: Stigmata, The Man in the Iron Mask and End of Days. Hits all my kinks - Priest, Period Costume and the Devil (okay, so the last thing? Is not actually a kink I have.) Man, I have nothing to say in my defense. Gabriel Byrne is sexy.

9. Julie Andrews


Yes. And you can stop laughing right now.

10. Jeremy Brett


I'm using this picture so I seem like less of a perv. But seriously, Jeremy Brett was sexy. At just about any age. And yes, particularly as Sherlock Holmes.

Way to not be doing anything constructive.

Anyway! Yesterday I participated in my first ever trollprincess costume party. Now, that was a good time - I went as Princess Leia (hence the current default icon), managed have a argument with pre-Vader Anakin, get weepy over Padmé, commiserate with Rose Tyler over space-travelling men and flirt with Doctor Crane. Good fun all around! The party can be found here

And today, after waking up too late to make my hairdressers' appointment, I locked myself in the boiler room with tea and peas and finished Lost. Seriously. It blew me away. The twists at the end did seem suddenly to go rather fast, contrasting with the more languid pace at the beginning, but now that I've had time to think about it, it does make sense - in fact, the book had been building to that pace through-out.

It's one of the books that makes me wish I were smarter, or more well-read; I can *see* the puzzles and hints, but I can't solve all of them. The use of them was good though and the entire story, the book-within-the-book and the twist at the end concerning it - it was a really compelling story. The plot, loosely, is that Winifred Rudge is going to stay with her step-cousin in London for a few days to get inspired for her next book, before she travels to Romania. She stays at the Rudge family house - built by an ancestor of hers, said to be the model for Dickens' Scrooge character. The novel quickly becomes something of a ghost story, but it's in no way bland - that cast of characters is far too interesting, the details are too many and the prose is wonderful. I seriously, seriously recommend it.





The swallow in her bird's-eye veiw circled about in haphazard fashion, admiring her ur-London. It included Primrose Hill, where the Twilight Barking of One Hundred and One Dalmatians started.Here was a street in Chelsea called Cherry Tree Lane, along whose sidewalks the perennial English nanny-goddess Mary Poppins had hustled her charges. Here was Paddington Station, in whose airy concourse a bear called Paddington had been lost, then found. Here was Kensington Gardens, Rackham's bleak version, with sprites and root goblins just out of sight, and Peter Pan, the original lost and abandoned child, a baby dressed in oak leaves, still crouching there even when thousands of mourners were depositing floral bouquets at the death of Princess Diana.






And now I just need to finish The Virgin's Lover. It's good, and Amy finally seems to be growing the fuck up. It's about time.

Speaking off, I am finally alone in my room! There are no guests who need the extra bed, no extra siblings - I'm alone. And to think, I'd just gotten so used to fleeing to the boiler room. It is quite nice though. I wonder if it'll be disconcerting to sleep alone now.

Finally: SOFIE'S HOME YAY! Now all I need is for Tess to get back, and my world can get back on it's axis *grins*
