cereta's asking why people love fandom. This naturally results in a post with a comment thread of joy and glee and all things good - and you should run over and add your own joy and glee to the bunch.

As for me, I love fandom, because it is a break away from my own mind; it's my safe-space, the place I go to be happy and silly and think differently and communicate and be able to be myself without repercussions or awkwardness. I love fandom.

Hee, it does sound incredibly awesome! And yeah, I get that from fandom as well. Though sometimes it does lead to me thinking everyone thinks like people in fandom, which has...interesting repercussions.
