(Yes, it definitely does, and I think that's also the distinction I've heard talked about - and it's certainly close to my own experience, too. But the issue is further complicated by a lot of other issues, such as homophobia, and the problems you *always* have when trying to measure a qualitative issue (sexuality) using quantitative methods. Sorry, psychology student here. It shows.)
