Interestingly, I've already kind of written about that:

My particular interest is how gender and sexuality is portrayed in media, particularly, as representation both influences and informs our view of society. Furthermore, our perception of society is coloured by our ideas of gender – and to a lesser extent sexuality – to a degree where it is hard to imagine society without gender models or gender roles. This is part of what I find so intriguing about gender studies; although the ideas and acts of gender change, there is still an insistence on its importance in society. The representation of gender and sexuality, then, is both contemporary and historical, with literary, political and sociological relevance.

(hello, pretension wagon. Mind if I hitch up my cart?)

I just can't figure out what else to write. Hmm.
